AB World Foods is part of the group Associated British Foods (ABF), a diverse group of food, ingredients and retail, with sales of 13.3 billion pounds and a team of 113,000 employees in 47 countries. ABWF is in the grocery division on par with other large business group.

It consists of a group of pioneers and experts in the world flavors that constantly demonstrate their passion for the business. But above all they are passionate about brands and products, which turns the group's brands into great references in the regions where they operate.

The portfolio of ABWF Brands comprises Brands like Patak’s, Blue Dragon, Levi Roots and Reggae Reggae.

Arla Foods is a Swedo-Danish dairy products company, founded in 1881 and currently available in over 100 countries. The brand is internationally recognized for its production and commercialization of high quality milk and dairy products, enforcing rigorous controls throughout the production process, from the primary material to the final product. At a world level, it is the 8th largest producer of dairy products and the largest producer of organic dairy products. Within its portfolio, Arla Foods has developed countless brands, the main ones being Lurpak, Castello, Finello, Apetina, Havarti, Cravendale, and Buko. JMD began representing Arla Foods in September 2009 with the launch of the Lurpak, Finello, Castello, and Appetina brands in the Portuguese market.

Cloetta is an Italian company, founded in 2001, that specializes in confectionery in the pastilles, gum and boiled sweets segments.  It has developed various confectionery brands, such as Sperlari, Läkerol, Galatine e Red Band. The partnership with this company was established in 2008 with the introduction of Truly gummy sweets from the Red Band brand, a range of products made with real fruit juice, without artificial colourants, and with less than 30% sugar, making it an option for those who want to watch what they eat without having to forgo enjoyment. Later on, JMD expand the range of products represented with the introduction of Red Band gummy sweets in their original form, to the delight of those with a sweet tooth, with the 100% promise of pleasure, quality and fun. More recently, JMD introduced in the Portuguese market The Jelly Bean Factory, offering a jelly beans with 36 different flavours, made with 1005 natural flavours and fruit juices.

Mandarin is a Portuguese company specialising in instant desserts that sells its products under the homonymous brand El Mandarin.  Although JMD has represented this brand for 49 years, it began representing it exclusively in 2008. Its portfolio includes Custard and a Puding, the brand’s star product. 

The Societe Anonyme des Eaux Minerales D’Evian, a Danone Group company, owns the Evian brand, which enjoys worldwide fame. It is a prestigious, international brand present in 130 countries and with a highly successful and respected communication strategy. The water’s reputation began to spread when it was discovered that its properties could effectively treat and combat certain diseases, particularly renal problems. Evian became even more popular thanks to this medical appeal. The Evian brand became synonymous with French mineral water, with a solid proposal with regard to differentiation, glamour and purity. Represented by JMD since 2012, it is a recent addition to the portfolio. 

The North American brand Heinz, world leader in ketchup, with over 140 years of history, positions itself in the market as a specialist in tomato-based sauces. Recognized worldwide, Heinz sets the benchmark for ketchup in Portugal as well – distributed by JMD in Portugal for more than thirty years. Although its Ketchup is the brand’s best-selling and well-recognized product, Heinz has diversified greatly, being present in different segments, such as: Mayonnaise, Mustard, Salad Sauces, Other Sauces (for Fondue, Soy and English Sauce, and also Lea&PerrinsWorcerstershire Sauce), Ready-made Meals (Baked Beans and Tomato Soup) and Tomato derivatives (Fried tomato). This is a brand that is characterized by its constant innovation and diversity, constantly trying to remain close to its consumers and adapt itself to their needs, thereby constructing a value proposal.

Kellogg’s is an American company that came into being in 1890. That said, the story began in 1880 with two brothers who believed in the importance of a “healthy life and diet for spiritual wellbeing.” During their research and studies, on the path to the discovery of the factor that would revolutionize dietary habits, the Kellogg brothers discovered by accident the first cereal flakes. Since then, life in Battle Creek has never been the same. The company currently produces its cereals in 18 countries and sells them in over 180. In a little over a century of existence, Kellogg’s has become an historic company as the leader in the breakfast cereal industry and as an example to be followed in areas such as Marketing, Innovation and Nutrition. It is internationally recognized for its delicious, nutritious and high-quality cereals, placing a primary importance on the health and well-being of its consumers. Notwithstanding this, the company’s vast portfolio covers other food categories, such as biscuits, drinks, dietary supplements and ready meals. The partnership with JMD began in 1978, making it one of JMD’s largest represented brands. In Portugal, Kellogg’s is present in the categories of Diet Cereals (Special K), Fibre (All Bran), Corn Flakes, Children’s Cereals and Cereal Bars.

Present in more than 100 countries around the world, it has a broad portfolio of chocolates, including bars, chocolate candies and chocolate figures in different ranges that are sold under the Lindt brand name. The partnership with this company began in 2006 and since then JMD has been exclusively responsible for the distribution of various Lindt sub-brands such as Lindor, Excellence, and Creation, among others.

It is the market leader in Germany in the segments in which it operates, characterizing and differentiating itself and its products through a high level of know-how, quality and tradition. Its positioning is based on continuing support of quality through the selection of the best ingredients and constant innovation. The brand has been represented in Portugal by JMD since 1997

The McIlhenny Company, an American family business, founded in 1868 in Avery Island, Louisiana, produces Tabasco sauce. With over 140 years of history, Tabasco still retains the original recipe that made it so popular. Branded in 22 languages and dialects, the world’s most famous and favourite spicy sauce is sold in more than 160 countries. It has recently entered a partnership with JMD who have represented the sauce since 2012. 

Merisant, a company currently based in Chicago in the USA, is the world leader in low-calorie sweeteners with a share of more than 30% of a market that today is worth more than 1.6 billion euros. Present in more than 90 countries around the world, Merisant produces and sells 19 different brands of sweeteners, its most important being Canderel, Pure Via, and Equal. The partnership with Merisant began in 2005 when JMD became the exclusive representative and distributor of the Canderel brand in Portugal, where it is the leader in the sweetener market.

Nestlé, founded in 1866 in Switzerland, was the first food processing company in the world. This company’s portfolio covers practically all food categories, including drinks, cereals, dairy products, baby food, ice cream, coffee and chocolate. It is a brand that features a range of products that accompany the consumer throughout their life, from infancy to adulthood. The partnership with Nestlé began in 1959, when JMD assumed responsibility for the representation of the internationally recognized brand of chocolates, After Eight. Also from Nestlé’s portfolio, JMD is responsible for Baci chocolates – this brand was brought to Portugal through a partnership with Perugina, which was subsequently bought by Nestlé; and Quality Street, created in 1936 and recognized by its huge variety of chocolates and toffees.

It all began back in 1956 with an idea; Julius Pringles was the man behind it. Also known for his large moustache, he was the inspiration for the charismatic “Mr. P” the jolly figure on the Pringles cans. Pringles were first launched in 1971. Over the following decades, the brand underwent enormous expansion, now being sold in all four corners of the world. It has a vast legion of fans, finding itself as the 10th brand with most friends on Facebook. Currently, more than 450 million cans are sold each year, which is equivalent to one can per person in Europe. The brand manufactures its products in three countries: Belgium, which provides 41% of its total volume; the US, which provides 55%; and China, which provides the remaining 4%. Pringles is one of JMD’s most recent brands, the partnership begun in September 2012 – yet another iconic brand in JMD’s vast portfolio.

Sam Mills Company is a Romanian company founded in 2004 that is currently the second largest corn milling company in Europe (500 tonnes per day) and that owns the largest gluten-free pasta factory in Europe (2400 tonnes per month). The company sells its products throughout Europe and the USA, already gaining worldwide recognition. Sam Mills, taking the name of its founding company, is a relatively recent brand whose partnership with JMD began in 2010 with the introduction into the Portuguese market of its gluten-free pasta, made with 100% corn flour.

Founded in 1903, Storck is a German company specializing in confectionery, namely chocolates, candy, gummy sweets and toffee. Its vast portfolio includes brands such as Werther’s Original, Merci, Toffifee, Knoppers, Riesen and Mamba and its products are currently sold in over 100 countries and consumed by more than 6 million people around the world. The partnership with Storck was established in 1999, when JMD introduced the Werther’s Original brand to Portugal, and it was strengthened in 2004 with the introduction of Merci chocolates to the Portuguese market. As well as these brands, JMD is also responsible for the sale and distribution of other Storck products, such as Toffifee chocolates. Storck makes life a little bit sweeter and happier!!!

Guloso is integrated into Sugal group. Founded more than 50 years ago, it is a family business composed exclusively of Portuguese capitals. It has already achieved the top place in its sector in Europe and is one of the largest in the world. It is essentially dedicated to the production of tomato products, which serve as a basis for making other dishes, such as soups or sauces, and operates in the retail, industry and food service segments. With five factories in Portugal, Spain and Chile, Sugal processes, annually, about 1.3 million tons of fresh tomatoes.

The partnership with Sugal began in 1959 when JMD became responsible for representing the Guloso Brand in the Portuguese market. A strong bond that remains to this day. Quality and innovation are intrinsic characteristics of the brand throughout its portfolio.
